Sweet Surrender...

Valentine's Day is a day for lovers to express their adoration for one another in whatever way they choose. Beautiful flowers delivered, candlelit dinners and chocolates to savor as they are reminded of the sweet love they share. Five years ago on this very day my thirty-five year relationship ended with my significant other. Not what I was expecting! Now, five years later, I look at is a the sweetest Valentine's gift I ever received because it opened the door to the most beautiful, divine and sacred love that one could ever imagine or experience.

Less than two months later I had entered into a relationship with my Twin soul, only to have him leave his physical body and return back home the very next day. Not what I had envisioned or expected either. This brief earthly encounter which was the match for my soul has altered the course of my life in the most profound way.
It tore the outer layers of who I "thought" I was off and revealed the divine, eternal spiritual being that I am (that we all are.) It has allowed me to show up in life and be the most authentic person I can be. Instead of existing I am experiencing life, love. and compassion for all I see, feel and do. I NOW know that the "Creative Source of all there is/God" lives within me and not outside of me in some faraway place in the sky. I have every Divine attribute inside of me as I am part of the Creator. It is all about claiming it and then mastering it so I can live like the masters did long ago.

The only way to do this is by allowing one big "let go." Not "expecting"  life to turn out in a specific way. When we do this we limit the infinite possibilities that can show up because we are so focused on what we think our life should look like. We also set ourselves up for disappointments when it doesn't happen. Waiting for that promotion, financial gain or a specific love interest to come into fruition before we can be happy is simply not living fully and appreciating the present moment. A friend of mine just gave me the best quote that completely resonated with me at the most synchronistic time and it goes like this: "The truth is that, given enough time, life bestows its gifts, a drop at a time, if we can find the courage to stay open to the mysterious flow that is larger than any one event." ~ Mark Nepo

I feel at this time in my life and on my journey I am called into a deep surrender and that does not mean giving up. It means to trust that there is a hand holding going on with me and Spirit and trusting that. To not make up my mind as to what's supposed to happen or what I expect to happen.. The worst thing we can do is presuppose what God has planned for us based upon what we think is happening now. All we have to do is relax and be joyful in all we do as life unfolds in all of it's magnificence. This way we will not miss the beauty and the miracles as they pass us by because we are NOT focused on a specific outcome. Savor every single morsel as you walk your path and look around at all there is knowing that life is about the journey and not the destination OR expectation. Now THAT is one sweet surrender. Namaste!

This is very beautiful....reminds me of Rob saying to HIS ex. because he found me...."Thank you Maureen" ....I loved that when he told me....of course being a peacemaker and a kind person he never actually said it to HER :)

That is beautiful Evon! You were/are that gift to Rob when he least expected it. We have to trust that all works out for our highest good and surrender to that "knowing."
