![]() Rarely do I ever write two blogs within the same month and rarely are there two full moons within the same month. That is why the second full moon within the same month is called "blue" because of the rare occasion and not the color. So how apropos is it for me to write two blogs in the same month on the very day of the full blue moon? Make sense to you? Makes perfect sense to me! There are a couple of different reasons why I wanted to write this blog today and one is because I was so deliciously attracted to this picture of the moon. Yes, the color, I just want to breath it into every cell of my being (crazy right) well, that's me! Of course, the other reason is I always want to deliver a message that has helped me and hopefully can reach others too. The color blue is often associated with sadness and if you don't believe me there are about twelve songs on the radio with the word "blue" in the title of them talking about heartbreak. Believe it or not although the full moon tonight is not blue in color, it is in emotions as it has passed by two stars in the Virgo constellation ( Porima and Videmiatrix) which bring about much sorrow, sadness and loneliness. So much is highlighted during a full moon whether it be your job, home life, family or love relationships. So this is a great time to look at these areas and address any fears or worries. This is where my gift to you comes in! Drum roll please!! How many times in our lives have we been told or been "conditioned" to think that certain aspects of ourselves are bad or evil and we need to get rid of them or hide them from not only others but ourselves? I would guess...hmmmm...say....all our lives maybe? Yes!! That is the way of the world as we know it. Don't let anyone see any negative aspects of yourself or you will stand in judgement of others and feel guilt and shame yourself. I found the most exquisite. profound and brilliantly written piece by Jeff Foster titled: "The Beautiful Guru of Darkness" and I want to share it with you on this day of illumination. Although, it talks about "spiritually awakening" it can be applied to ALL of us walking on this earth whether we are going through a spiritual awakening or not. It brings about "clarity" and that is how a full moon can serve us by shining a light into those places where we don't want to look or perceive as dark... "Spiritual awakening has nothing to do with escaping our darkness and reaching the light! No no, it's a revolution in awareness! We actually turn TOWARDS our darkness, illuminating it and knowing ourselves as the very light that illumines. So it is no longer darkness at all... We are not here to destroy, eradicate, fix, transcend or even 'heal' our darkness - the grief, the terror, the anger, the shame, those deep feelings of guilt from childhood. For these are just places in ourselves that we haven't been willing or able to illumine yet. They are not inherently evil, sinful or dangerous. As we heal, we begin to shower these sad places with love. We shine our blazing divine light on the sore, tight, aching places in us. And we let these precious energies know, they are included, they are welcome, they are holy, here in the Vastness. So we are no longer controlled by our 'dark' feelings. So we can act from presence, from clarity, from love. So we can be full of life - joy and sorrow, confusion and clarity, vulnerability and courage. The 'dark' places in us are not our enemies. They are not mistakes. They are not our sickness. They are our precious children, crying out, yearning for our love, our light, our knowing" How beautifully liberating is that? He is basically saying they want to be "held" not "healed," "included" not "excluded." We don't have to pretend they are not there and not a part of us. They just need to be heard and acknowledged as they have a story too. Let the light of your soul bathe them in love and acceptance. Integrate the two or let them both co-exist as we cannot change any of our past but we can create a brighter future by accepting ALL of who we are, and not judging or putting labels on any of it. We came to earth to experience all we could experience and that doesn't mean all that's "good." Our growth comes from our challenges so by giving them a space, a voice, or a chance to be heard can create self-love and self acceptance and after that everything else falls into place. So maybe with this illumination/light/perspective this full moon won't be so "blue" after all. Blessings!
