Why is it that we think we have to look for peace outside of ourselves? Like some external force, person, place is going to bring about our own "inner" peace. Whether we do this consciously or unconsciously what we are doing is giving our own power away, our own self-mastery. We are waiting for some thing, or others to give us what is already ours. We are made in the image of our Creator who is nothing but love, goodness and peace. We don't have to fix ourselves or anyone around us we just need to go inward and allow our divine nature to surface. If we don't like what is going on around us we must first start by going inward and tapping into our true self. It is always there but most of the time lies dormant until we wake it up. By living more authentically and consciously we can bring about the changes we would like to see, first in ourselves, and then in others around us as we shine our light. ![]() Here is a beautiful example that I found on Faith Spina's facebook page Bridge to Lemuria coupled with a beautiful photo: There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest - in perfect peace. Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why? "Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace." That truly is the real meaning of peace! We can live in a world where there is much chaos going on but remain peaceful because we know that true peace comes from within. We will have mastered and understood our own power and do not give that power to others. Some, may serve as triggers and that jut means this is something you must look at and go within to clear. Understand "why" it is your trigger and acknowledge it, honor it, and thank it for trying to protect you all this time and then send it on it's way. It is then that you are free from ever having to deal with that again. Each trigger comes up so that we can face it and clear it. Then we can achieve that internal peace that is always there and be a light for others during their dark times. Whether the disturbance is in your own home, workplace or in the world, when you lead by example and do not contribute to the disturbances/darkness around you then that is when you take back your own power of inner peace and add to the light of the world. If we don't like the way things are, or we want to add love, light and peace into the world we must first start by changing ourselves as we take back our power and slowly transition into peace. In love and light. ![]() Written 1/20/2017 at 5:18 pm
